You might have a very good website and need to convert your website visitors to leads. In this article I want to talk to you about why landing pages will make or break your business…

You try so hard to bring traffic to your website using Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads and if you watched my recent video you might be doing Facebook Dark Posts. You are obviously doing all this activities to drive sales and brand awareness for your business. But what’s the best way to convert users into leads? Landing Pages of course.

According to MarketingSherpa’s handbook 44% of clicks for B2B companies are directed to the business’ homepage, not a special landing page . Furthermore, of the B2B companies that are using landing pages, 62% have six or fewer total landing pages.

Landing pages are heart and soul for generating leads. So why don’t business owners and marketers are not using them? MarketingSherpa cites mentioned that the number one reason businesses don’t use landing pages is because their marketing department doesn’t know how to set them up or they are too overloaded. Isn’t this a shame? Spending all your marketing £ (pounds) to grow your business are waisted.

Let me start with the definition of a landing page. To put it in simple English language, a landing page is a web page that allows you to capture a visitor’s data through a lead generation form. In order to have a excellent landing page you will need to target a specific target audience. You can create a landing page that allows your web visitors to download an e-book, whitepaper or a unique offer.

I don’t want you to get this wrong that you will think that you don’t need a website or a blog. Of course you need to have a great website and a blog for people that want more information. A blog increases credibility for potential clients because they can read and see that you have a voice and you care about your audience.

Key components for a landing page:

  • Headline: You have to have a great headline so people can see what is your landing page about.
  • Copy: The text on the landing page should be very simple to  your potential audience. They will need to understand why they need to follow your call to action request.
  • Keywords: It makes sense that you need to have keywords on your landing page that is specific to your industry and questions that users will be searching for.
  • Social: You MUST have social sharing buttons. Make it easy for users to share your landing page.
  • Conversion Forms: You might want to have a call to action button that let’s users download an e-Book you wrote or a call back form.
  • Pictures: You need to have amazing pictures to inspire people.
  • Slogan: I don’t mean just a tacky slogan, I mean a great slogan that represents what you believe in. It’s #InspireToSell, you can watch the video blog that I did about it.

I will tell you something that is common sense BUT I just want to mention it: The more landing pages you have the better it’s for your business. It’s like opportunities. If you have 1 sales lead and you stick to that lead without generating another leads you rely only on that lead. If you have 20 leads it means that you have more opportunities. The same goes for social media, if you have only LinkedIn it means your sales funnel contains of ONE sales channel, if you use Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Email Marketing and offline marketing like networking you automatically have 5 funnels for your sales leads.

To conclude this article and to save you money on your PPC campaigns I would suggest creating a landing page for your product or service and have a great web presence.
