Periscope is the first live streaming platform and it’s mind blowing. What this fantastic app does it’s quite astonishing, it live broadcasts people’s shows. For example there are people that are broadcasting London Street views, make up tips, Q&A’s about fashion, cooking, you name it. Anybody can broadcast a live show, anybody can become a TV star.
I broadcast every day about digital marketing, social media, business and success tips for example. You can broadcast anything you like and you can watch other people broadcasts. In order to broadcast all you need is 3G/4G and sound on your iPhone, nothing else. You can’t upload edited videos, it’s LIVE it’s what’s happening now.
Periscope is connected with Twitter, so when you start a broadcast you can choose for it to tweet automatically (I suggest you do) to your twitter followers about your show. People can watch it online via their web browser as well.
When you broadcast people can tap the screen and give you hearts, the more hearts you receive the higher in the rankings of periscope you will go. Once you finish your broadcast you can upload it for people to watch in the replay section. When you are doing a broadcast people can comment and ask questions which is one of the reasons people love it, it’s instant. Everybody can read each others comments.
A lot of celebrities jumped on Periscope and share their daily lives on it, which is great. People love watching other people’s lives. Periscope slogan is ‘Explore the world through someone else’s eyes’ It is exactly what it does. Some broadcasts get packed, by packed I mean 1.3m people watching.
Once you finish a broadcast you can upload it on your YouTube channel like I did. When you upload the video to your YouTube channel people can’t see the actual comments and hearts, they can only watch and listen to you.
You can invite people to join broadcasts and you can join other broadcasts as well. Now, what about business? Well this mind blowing application gives you free global access. If you are building a brand, you want more exposure and build brand awareness this is a great opportunity.
